In THIS country of greatness, opportunity and extreme wealth why is a RACE of people who played a MAJOR role in building this country through blood, sweat, tears, lives, and enslavement; who volunteered fought and died in every war America has been in; who raised a generation of children of their employers only to have those children treat them as the HELP once they were grown. Why is this RACE of people unable to be treated with the same equity and equality bestowed on other Americans? Blacks should NOT have to live in a world where they have to bring their children up KNOWING their lives are endangered simply because of the color of their skin.
Please join us by standing against injustice and paying our respects to George Floyd, the latest Black man tragically murdered by a racist policeman on Monday, May 25, 2020.
At the time of your choosing on Monday, June 1, 2020, the one week anniversary of his senseless death, we invite you to light a candle in Mr. Floyd's memory as well as all other people of color who have died at the hands of racists before him.
Here's how you can participate:
1. Post - During the day, we ask that you post a photo of you holding a lit candle or just the candle if you prefer, to our event page as well as your social media accounts. If you're unable to take a photo, feel free to use the cover photo of our event.
2. Tag - Please use the hashtags #BlackLivesMatter and #JusticeForFloyd
3. Share - After you've posted your photo, please share your post and encourage your friends and family to participate.
